- "Tuskel" = Donald Tusk (Polish head of EC) and Angela Merkel (Chancellor of Germany).
- "Merkozy" was Angela Merkel (Chancellor of Germany) + Nicholas Sarkozy (former French PM).
- Tuskel is a strong working relationship while Merkozy was often difficult (and possible reason for EU's initial weak response to the euro crisis).
